Despite being scheduled to face Ezekiel in a Money in the Bank qualifying match on June 27th, 2022’s WWE RAW did not feature Kevin Owens. The match was still being promoted on social media by WWE earlier on Monday. It was announced on commentary that the match was going to be rescheduled to a later date.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com commented on what he heard about the situation.
“Kevin Owens – whatever the situation is, is minor, but he was not on the show, which is why the Ezekiel match did not happen as originally scheduled.”
“I did not check if Kevin Owens would be ready by Friday, I just know that he was not ready tonight but it’s nothing serious, is what I was told.”
Owens provided the following explanation on Twitter for his absence:
“I didn’t want to go to Texas so I didn’t go.
Leave me alone.”
