As many of you saw on AEW Dynamite this week, Sting announced his retirement at the Revolution pay-per-view in February.
There are no details on where or when the show will take place, but there is already online speculation on who will appear for Sting’s final match and who or what will be the gift for Sting next Wednesday on Dynamite.
For what it’s worth, Ric Flair is not currently under contract with WWE, so if Tony Khan makes the call, there’s a good chance Flair will appear on the show to pay tribute to Sting. Khan and Flair are also good friends, and Flair was mentioned for AEW appearances a few years ago, but that never happened.
Lex Luger and Ricky Steamboat, among other legendary names, could be brought in for Sting’s retirement. As of now, no hints have been given about Sting’s gift on Wednesday. It will be interesting to see if WWE attempts to prevent Flair from appearing on AEW TV if Khan requests it.
