MJF has been pursuing more acting while he has been away from All Elite Wrestling.
MJF worked the AEW Worlds End pay-per-view event, where he was injured after losing the AEW World Heavyweight Championship to Samoa Joe in the main event. He had a torn labrum and a hip injury before the match.
He is reportedly still deciding whether to have surgery for the torn labrum. If he undergoes surgery, he could be out for nearly a year.
The new comedy “Floaters,” according to Deadline.com, has finished filming in New York. Aya Cash (The Boys), Seth Green, Steve Guttenberg, Jonathan Silverman, and Dan Ahdoot also appear in the film. It was written by Brent Hoff, Andra Gordon, and Amelia Brain.
The film follows Nomi (Tohn), a struggling musician who accepts a last-ditch job from her overachieving best friend Mara (Podemski): mentoring misfit campers, the “Floaters,” at their childhood Jewish summer camp.
