According to reports, MJF will soon make a return to AEW.

Although the precise date of MJF’s return is still unknown, a recent report from the Wrestling Observer notes that he is expected to do so soon.

It was noted that the recent decline in AEW ratings is occurring at the worst possible time because talks for a new AEW TV deal are likely to start in a few months and continue into the spring. In order to fight the ratings decline and recover from some of the bad luck the company has experienced due to injuries and other happenings, AEW is now expected to have MJF, Adam Cole, and The Hardys back in action for the fall and winter.

At the time of MJF’s hiatus, it was rumored that MJF vs. Punk was the plan, but it hasn’t been confirmed whether they still intend to go that route.

After his post-Double Or Nothing promo on AEW Dynamite on June 1, things have been quiet on the MJF front, and it was reported earlier this month that neither AEW wrestlers nor staff has admitted to hearing from him since then, while many people who have worked with or are close to MJF claim he has not been in contact at all. Additionally, AEW employees claimed that AEW CEO, General Manager & Head of Creative Tony Khan had not mentioned MJF since that June promo.

Additionally, it was reported earlier this month that some AEW employees still think MJF is leaving the company and wants to join WWE, but this claim is unfounded in light of any new information since the June 1 promo. Although MJF hasn’t attended any AEW events since June 1, he is still bound by his contract with the company.
