MLW Announces The Return of Davey Boy Smith Jr at Fightland ’22

After being away from the promotion for almost 2 years, Davey Boy Smith Jr is set to return to MLW at Fightland ’22 on October 20 in Philadelphia at the 2300 Arena. MLW had been teasing a big return on social media yesterday before revealing it to be Davey Boy Smith Jr.

Davey Boy Smith Jr’s last appearance in MLW was back on December 2, 2020 where he was defeated by Low Ki in the first round of the 2020 Opera Cup tournament. During his last run with MLW he formed a version of the Hart Foundation with Teddy Hart and Brian Pillman Jr. They held the MLW Tag Team Championship on one occasion.

Davey Boy Smith Jr was most recently seen in the NWA and a few independent promotions. He also appeared at Ric Flair’s Last Match event losing to Killer Kross.

There has been no confirmation if he has signed a deal but MLW has already released a new Davey Boy Smith Jr T-Shirt. This is a very good indication that we could be seeing a lot more of Davey Boy Smith Jr in MLW after Fightland ’22.

Here is the updated MLW Fightland ’22 card:

  • Last Man Standing MLW World Heavyweight Championship: Alex Hammerstone (c) vs. EJ Nduka
  • Jacob Fatu vs. Lio Rush
  • Willie Mack vs. Calvin Tankman
  • The return of Davey Boy Smith Jr.
  • Sam Adonis makes his MLW debut
