News on John Cena’s Work with Make-A-Wish, Grants Over 650 Wishes

With the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the veteran WWE Superstar has granted more than 650 wishes, marking a significant accomplishment.

In the charity’s history, Cena has granted more Wishes than any other celebrity. Despite having granted more than 200 Wishes each, NASCAR’s Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jeff Gordon, and WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan all fell short of the 300-Wish milestone. Only Cena has achieved this milestone.

As can be seen in the tweet below, as part of the “#CenaMonth” celebration for his 20th anniversary with the company, WWE highlighted Cena’s 650+ Wishes granted.

In November of 2019, Cena reached 600 Wishes. In 2004, he fulfilled his first Wish. Since its founding in 1981, the charity has given more than 520,000 Wishes across the globe.

Cena is the celebrity that Wish Kids have requested the most often, according to Make-A-Wish. The charity grants the requests of kids with life-threatening illnesses between the ages of 2.5 and 18.

Cena has frequently highlighted how important the Make-A-Wish meetings are to him in talks with the media. He committed to always be there for the foundation if they had a fan who wanted to meet him after hearing about the charity. For almost 20 years, he has maintained his word.

As of 2015, WWE had given more than 6,000 Wishes to meet Superstars or attend live events, and in the seven years since, they have granted many more. In the 1980s, when Hogan was the most popular, WWE began the tradition.

We mentioned earlier this month how Cena gained attention for paying a special visit to a Ukrainian teenager with Down syndrome at this link.

Since the summer of last year, Cena has been away from WWE TV in favor of his Hollywood career. He is expected to make a comeback this Monday on RAW from Laredo, Texas.
