PROGRESS Chapter 145 Wrestling Witch Face: Trick or Treat Takeaways and Results (10/23/22)

PROGRESS Wrestling put on a fantastic show (Chapter 145: Wrestling Witch Face-Trick or Treat) at the Electric Ballroom, Camden, this past Sunday. The promotion has worked hard to create a product that has entertaining storylines and feuds across the card and it has really begun to come to fruition.

I left the ballroom excited about what happens next and with these 7 top takeaway thoughts:

7) FSU are back!!

Top team, top match, top entrance…when’s the mouth-watering match vs Sunshine Machine? I for one, would love to see that happen.

6) The Women’s Division Is Special

The talent in the women’s division continues to grow. Daily Star’s favorite wrestler, Lana Austin, has a stable that is slowly ensuring Austin gets the belt, whilst LA Taylor is sure to be a breakout star who can cement her own legacy as a future world champion. Taonga is a great addition to the promotion, improving every match and standing out in character. It’s great to see Millie McKenzie back. McKenzie vs Rhio could be a great feud down the line. And let’s not forget Alexxis Falcon and Nina Samuels. Top wrestlers with a feud that has legs and more good matches in it.

5) Crowley is Money!!

Charles Crowley is a great entertainer and solid wrestler. Everything he is involved in is must-see and enjoyable. I look forward to seeing how far this man can go.

4) Who can beat Damo?

I think Damo has found his perfect place in the promotion as Atlas Champion. A strong style match with Luke Jacobs was well received and highlights the brutal nature that is needed on an independent event. I would absolutely love to see Damo take on Rampage Brown.

3) PROGRESS has great cultural crossover

Getting Akinfenwa involved in the promotion is a great coup. The man is well-loved across popular culture and garners headlines. His debut match on Nov 27 alongside Ogogo vs Malik and Kosta will get social networks and tabloids interested and fits nicely in a card that offers up a bit of everything. Very well played PROGRESS.

2) Slater vs RKJ needs to be a headline feud in 2023

We’ve seen it twice, and we’ve seen them team up, but now we need to see them main event please PROGRESS. These guys are the future of the industry and stole the show yesterday. Two future world champions that could have a series of matches that would make many part with their money to see in 2023. I for one cannot wait to see their progress (pun intended)

1) Spike Trivet may be PROGRESS Wrestling’s greatest champion

Hating a champ and wanting them to lose gets people coming back. The chance that the new contender will be the one to dethrone them is an exciting prospect and make a match so intriguing. This happened on Sunday in the fantastic main event where Dan Maloney looked like he would be the one to beat the smarmy Trivet. But alas, it didn’t happen and he once again found his way to victory. He is a see you next Tuesday, but you can’t help but want to see what’s next. Tom Dawkins, where are you???

For me, the company grows and grows in stature and is as good as it has ever been. Chapter 146, They Think It’s All Over, on November 27th cannot come quick enough. Tickets available at https://progresswrestling.com/tickets/
