AEW star Ricochet recently spoke with Chicago’s Q101 on his transfer to All Elite Wrestling and his distinctive in-ring attitude.
While embracing the unique style and intensity of AEW matches, Ricochet stressed his dedication to his own wrestling identity. “I don’t try to think about my style changing things,” he explained. “I’ve always just wrestled the same, really, everywhere.”
Ricochet emphasized his flexibility, pointing out that his matches change according on his opponent. He stated, “If I’m wrestling Will Ospreay, it’s obviously gonna be different than if I’m wrestling Powerhouse Hobbs.”
However, he insisted that his core moveset remained unchanged. “Me specifically, Ricochet, I’m going to do the same moves, the same stuff that I’ve always done,” he stated. “It’s just going to be where, what, where, how, why, and when I do it.”
Ricochet revealed a surprising source of inspiration for his in-ring strategy: Jackie Chan, an action film legend. “I say, what would Jackie Chan do in this moment?” He added, “Jackie Chan might do something big, but he might do something small here, so I really kind of plan all my matches after Jackie Chan and what he would do in that specific moment of the match.”
