Your new #1 contenders for WWE NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Katana Chance and Kayden Carter are Zoey Stark and Nikkita Lyons.
Toxic Attraction (Unified NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolin, Jacy Jayne) was supposed to face Lyons, Stark, and Alba Fyre on Tuesday night’s NXT, but a parking lot angle shot earlier in the day showed Fyre attacking Jayne and Dolin as they arrived at the arena. She then jumped into Rose’s SUV and drove away. Fyre and Rose were not seen again for the remainder of the show.
Lyons and Stark defeated Dolin and Jayne to earn a future title shot in the six-woman match, which was changed to a #1 contender’s match. Backstage, Chance and Carter watched the match.
Chance and Carter did not wrestle this week, but they did appear in a backstage segment where they claimed to be WWE’s true tag team champions. They promised to never give up the titles, especially to Toxic Attraction, and said Lyons and Stark as a tag team are a big question mark.
There is no word on when Lyons and Stark will face Chance and Carter, but we will keep you updated.
On the August 2 NXT episode, Chance and Carter won the vacant titles by defeating Dolin and Jayne, Yulisa Leon and Valentina Feroz, and Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley in a Fatal 4 Way Elimination Match. Since winning the titles, Chance and Carter have only made one TV title defense, defeating Nikki A.S.H. and Doudrop at Worlds Collide on September 4.
