WWE Hall of Famer & Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels hosted a media call earlier today to promote Saturday’s WWE NXT Halloween Havoc event. The following are some highlights from the call:
* Michaels expressed his condolences to the family of WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash following the tragic death of his 26-year-old son Tristen Nash earlier this week.
* Michaels admitted that there was some micromanagement when NXT 2.0 was released. Before the last NXT Stand & Deliver event, Michaels pushed the regime led by former Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon to do things his way while still getting the talent ready for the system and taking responsibility for it. Michaels felt as if they had turned a corner after that.
* Michaels praised Logan Paul as a bright young man who he wanted to work with in the ring this week after seeing him perform at WrestleMania 38.
* He stated that there is more communication regarding call-ups these days, especially when it comes to completing storylines in NXT. He stated quite clearly that their job in NXT is to prepare people for RAW and SmackDown, and that call-ups are a good problem to have.
* When Veer Mahaan and Sanga returned to NXT, they wanted to focus on their strengths and who they are, rather than following “wrestling tropes” about them being scary and calling them classy and nice guys.
