Naomi (Trinity Fatu) will be appearing at WrestleCon during WrestleMania 39 Weekend in Los Angeles.
It’s worth noting that the original announcement for Naomi’s appearance included a WWE photo of her with her old Twitter handle tagged. “It’s Feel the Glow Friday! Welcome to WrestleCon! @NaomiWWE,” it said.
WrestleCon removed the announcement and replaced it with a new graphic featuring a non-WWE photo. “In case you missed it, WrestleCon just added #trinityfatu. She will be at the Convention on both Saturday and Sunday. Pro photo ops available!” they wrote.
The @NaomiWWE handle, which she no longer uses or has access to, was not included in the second tweet. Her new Twitter handle, @TrinityIdentity, was not mentioned in the tweet’s caption, but it is linked to the post.
Naomi’s WrestleCon appearance has fueled speculation that she is a free agent, but this has yet to be confirmed.
Naomi will make her first pro wrestling appearance since she and current IWGP Women’s Champion Mercedes Moné walked out of a WWE RAW taping in mid-May 2022 due to creative differences as the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. Naomi will attend the convention on Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2. Moné will make an appearance as well, but only on Sunday. WrestleCon runs from Thursday, March 31 to Sunday.
As PWMania.com previously reported, Naomi’s friend and former tag team partner has revealed that she is recovering from shoulder surgery. Ariane Andrew (aka Cameron) was recently asked about her former Funkadactyls partner during a virtual signing for Golden Ring Collectibles.
“So, she [Naomi] is recovering from shoulder surgery and you know, I want her to answer the question for herself [of what’s next for her]. I know she’s recovering from shoulder surgery. But, I’m super proud of her. That’s my sister from another mister and I think you have to ask her for yourself how she’s feeling. See if her shoulder is feeling good because she’s recovering right now. Ask her that question.”
Naomi was reported to be returning to WWE in the near future as recently as late January, but this has obviously not occurred. There was no concrete timetable for Naomi’s return at the time, but one WWE executive was confident that Naomi would be returning to work for WWE because the two parties had communicated.
