Tuesday night’s episode of WWE NXT on the CW featured Stacks defeating his former stablemate, “The Don of NXT” Tony D’Angelo, to capture the NXT Heritage Cup Championship. The title was vacated over the weekend due to Noam Dar suffering an injury.
The match lasted five rounds, with D’Angelo securing the first pinfall in round two. However, Stacks’ associates took out D’Angelo’s leg, allowing Stacks to clinch victory in round four. In the final round, Luca Crusifino came down to help Stacks, but accidentally struck D’Angelo instead. This mistake ultimately allowed Stacks to win the match and claim the title.
This victory marks Stacks’ first singles championship in NXT. Following the match, D’Angelo confronted Crusifino and expressed that he no longer trusts him.
