Teddy Long Believes The CM Punk – AEW Situation Is All A Work

Teddy Long’s latest video was released on Sportskeeda’s YouTube channel. Long discussed the situation involving CM Punk and The Elite in the video below. Punk will return to AEW on June 17 for the first Collision show, and there are reportedly plans for a soft brand split to keep Punk and others separate from the Dynamite roster.

“It’s called drama,” Long explained of the backstage problems. “It’s drama and what it does is make you hurry up and wait. It’s all basically a work.”

Co-host Mac Davis asked if Punk is still as welcome backstage as he was before the backstage issues. Bill Apter responded saying that when you take something away, you crave it even more.

Davis stated that Tony Khan should seize control of everything and tell all parties involved what he wants, or Punk should leave the company.

“Like I said, if it was me, I’d tease it all the way up until people think he’s coming in and he walks right out on WWE TV…that’s what I would do.” Long explained.

All indications point to the Punk-Elite feud being real, and Punk is said to be on board for his return to television at Collision next month. Time will tell whether Punk and The Elite can later turn the real-life situation into a storyline.
