The World of Wrestling

Wrestling Rewards

Just like boxing, wrestling offers its wrestling champions belts based on weight categories. However, unlike boxing, professional wrestlers do not receive the bulk of their prize money through simple participation. Most of wrestlers’ income derives from sponsorships and WWE partnership, which donates a cut to the athletes in exchange for event participation and sales of merchandise.

On average a professional wrestler can earn an average of around $500,000 each year but this can reach six-figure proportions should some of them make it to Hollywood. Wrestlers have to be trained in both arts of wrestling as well as acting as they have to make the fights seem authentic.

Although events are staged no-one outside the WWE should have an indication on who will win any event so if you would like to bet on wrestling there are plenty of online bookmakers ready to accept your bets.

WWE

The World Wrestling Entertainment, commonly known as the WWE, is the largest wrestling corporation in the world, hosting over 500 events every year. It was conceived in 1952 and has exploded in popularity since, with many famous professional wrestlers going on to become idols and film stars.

Mexico has a particular appeal to wrestling, with the vast majority of wrestlers sporting grotesque masks to heighten the sense of fear and intrigue towards opponents and the audience.

Nicknames are also provided to wrestlers depending on their specialty of moves designed to differentiate them from the rest of the pack. The staged events are a spectacle to watch, as ecstatic crowds watch oversized giants packed with solid muscle performing acrobatic and other physical feats which you would normally only witness in a circus. The WWE is truly one big media circus, with aggressive promotions and massive sponsorships taking center stage.

WWE Superstars

As already mentioned earlier, professional contracts in the WWE can earn wrestlers a golden pass to Hollywood. In the past we have already witnessed superstars such as Hulk Hogan, the Undertaker, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Steve “Stone Cold” Austin and John Cena grace both the wrestling professional arena and Hollywood, with many others about to follow in their footsteps.

Contracts at WWE are offered short-term or long-term, which probably depends on the expectations of the wrestling corporation at the time of hiring. Short-term would probably equate to not more than 1 year and long-term can be stretched to as long as 10 years.

It is not easy to build a monstrous, solid physique and be a great actor, instigator, badass on the ring and out. It takes years of dedication and sacrifice to make it to the top but in the end the bulging dividends pay off handsomely.

Polish WWE Participants

There are not many wrestlers originating from Poland who have made it to the WWE but Ivan “The Polish Power” Putski takes the prize as the most feted Polish WWE wrestler of all times. He competed in the 1970’s and was more renowned for participating in tag competitions, where wrestlers compete in teams of at least 2. Ivan also went on to take part in the 1978 edition of the World’s Strongest Man.
