Randy Orton fans have tried to remain optimistic about his wrestling future after much speculation about where things stand for his career.
Orton’s most recent match was in May 2022, when he and Matt Riddle lost the Raw Tag Team Titles to The Usos in a Winner Take All match on SmackDown. The initial assumption was that Orton would simply take time off due to a back injury before returning to turn on Riddle, resulting in a feud.
Unfortunately, the injury was more severe than expected, and Orton underwent lower back fusion surgery in November of last year. Those in WWE have expressed grave concern about his WWE career.
When a photo of Orton looking jacked surfaced over the weekend, some fans were optimistic about his future.
Dave Meltzer reported in the most recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there had been no recent update on Orton’s return timeline.
Meltzer wrote, “We’ve heard no wrestling update on him recently but his back injuries were very serious and a few months ago there was concern about whether he’d be able to return, or at best, it would be a long time, which it has already been.”
