UFC 271 preview

UFC 271 is going to be one of the highly anticipated MMA events to have happened in 2022 so far when it takes place at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, on February 12.

Coming off the back of the heavyweight success of UFC 270, one of the main reasons many will be awaiting the event will be due to the names that appear on the stacked fight card, with some of the biggest fighters scheduled to clash against each other in the Octagon.

With the event set to boast so many great stars, it would not be a surprise if there were to be a number of exclusive Colorado sportsbook promos to be made available for the night, especially when the highlight features Israel Adesanya & Robert Whittaker.

Israel Adesanya & Robert Whittaker

The duo will go up against each other in what has been billed as a co-main event at UFC 271, although it would be rather easy to suggest that this is the only main event on the card.

The contest will see two of the best Middleweight competitors square up against each other for the second time, with the first bout in 2019 having finished in favor of “The Last Stylebender” via knockout in Round 2 at UFC 243.

Both men are in fine form coming into this bout, though, with the world’s ‘#1 ranked Adesanya and world’s #2 ranked Whittaker both having won their previous three fights. This should make the UFC Middleweight Championship title fight one that is rather incredible and one not to be missed.

The pair both have excellent fight records, with the Nigerian fighter having figures of 21-1-0, whereas “The Reaper” has a fight record that currently reads 23-5-0. Neither man will want to see it worsened, but which one of them will?

Derrick Lewis & Tai Tuivasa also co-main event

As mentioned, the Adesanya vs Whittaker contest is not the only main event on the UFC 271 fight card, with a heavyweight battle between two brawlers also scheduled to take place on the card!

The world’s #4 heavyweight Derrick Lewis will take to the Octagon and compete against the world’s #11 heavyweight, Tai Tuivasa. The fight has all the ingredients to be rather brutal, but at the very same time, rather exciting for those who watch.

Indeed, both men are in a good way at the moment in regard to previous fight form, thus making this contest one that could swing either way, although Lewis perhaps does come out as the favorite.

Derek Brunson & Jared Cannonier

Although it is impossible to speak about all of the fights that have been scheduled to take place at UFC 271 due to how good the event at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, is looking, it is certainly worth taking a look at one of the bouts on the main card.

The contest between Derek Brunson and Jared Cannonier is one that will see two evenly-matched fighters compete against each other in the Middleweight division.

We already have #1 vs #2 going up against each other in the co-main event, so why not have the #3 fighter in the division go up against the #4 ranked middleweight? That’s exactly what UFC 271 has provided us with!

Of course, the bout was initially scheduled to take place on January 22, 2022, but it had to be moved after being canceled. Nonetheless, we do not think many are complaining now as it is just days away!
