Mercedes Mone will be spending some time on the sidelines.
As noted, the former WWE Superstar known as Sasha Banks suffered an ankle injury during her NJPW Strong Women’s Championship main event bout against Willow Nightingale at NJPW Resurgence 2023.
On Thursday, NJPW issued the following statement regarding the injury:
Mercedes Moné injured
During her match with Willow Nightingale in the main event of Resurgence May 21, Mercedes Moné sustained an injury to her right ankle.Moné underwent a thorough appraisal of her injury immediately after her match and began treatment.
