WES Promotion Reportedly Struggling to Sell Tickets for Debut Show

Wrestling Entertainment Series (WES) is a new promotion that Sunny Dhinsa and Gzim Selmani, also known as Akam and Rezar of The Authors of Pain, established earlier this year.

Originally, the promotional event’s opening night was scheduled for June 4 at Nottingham, England’s Motorpoint Arena. The event has been moved to July 9th, though.

The promotion may have been overly optimistic about how many fans they could draw now that the event is just days away.

Journalist Adam Cailler recently noted on Twitter that only 350 tickets were sold for the show that was scheduled for a venue with 10,000 seats. Although 350 tickets were sold, which is a respectable figure for an independent show, it falls short of what AOP had hoped for.

“Just been told that this re-arranged show, which still has people advertised on the poster who aren’t coming, and is being held at the 10,000 seater Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham has sold *drum roll*… LESS THAN 350 tickets.”

Impact Wrestling’s Moose will face Alistair Overeem in a singles match in the main event. Several stars, including Adam Scherr (Braun Strowman), Chelsea Green, Lina Fanene (Nia Jax), and Deonna Purrazzo, have pulled out of the show.

Jax was originally supposed to wrestle at the event against former WWE star CJ Perry (Lana). Perry needs a new opponent, though. Jax recently criticized the marketing for misrepresenting her in the show’s advertising.
