Following Friday’s episode, in which Madcap Moss challenged Intercontinental Champion Gunther for his title, WWE planted the seeds for two SmackDown stars to turn heel.
Moss fell short of capturing his first singles title outside of the 24/7 Title, as “The Ring General” triumphed, extending his historic title reign. Gunther took the victory with a powerbomb.
Emma explained why her real-life boyfriend lost the title match after the show.
WWE released this video of the couple talking after the loss, in which Moss took responsibility and stated that he didn’t finish the job, while Emma stated that he would’ve won if the crowd hadn’t turned on him.
