PWMania.com previously reported that Fightful Select revealed earlier this week that Anthony Bowens’ AEW contract is set to expire on October 1. According to the report, the deal has not been extended, and negotiations among the parties involved have yet to begin.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer mentioned (per WrestlePurists) that there is some interest within WWE in securing Bowens’ services, although he did not provide further details. Interestingly, Bowens disclosed in a 2023 interview with Chrissy Chaos that he initially agreed to sign with WWE in 2019 before ultimately choosing to join All Elite Wrestling.
Bowens signed with AEW in 2020 and became a member of The Acclaimed, where he held both the World Tag Team and the World Trios Championships at one point. After the group’s disbandment in 2025, he joined The Opps earlier this year. Most recently, he competed in the Buy In portion of All In: London, teaming up with HOOK, Katsuyori Shibata, and Action Andretti to face Lio Rush and The Rascalz in an eight-man tag team match, during which he ended up taking the pin.
