WWE Main Event Results – February 2, 2023
Shelton Benjamin vs. Damon Kemp
Match starts off with a handshake before Damon Kemp gets a waist lock but Shelton Benjamin reverses and takes it to the mat. Kemp is able to switch and they do some mat wrestling before Benjamin rolls to the corner to break. Benjamin grabs an arm and they trade counters before Kemp gets an arm drag.
He tells the fans, I do this. I’m the real gold standard. Kemp offers a handshake and then slaps Benjamin in the face. Benjamin chases Kemp on the floor but gets caught coming back into the ring. Kemp lands another slap to the face and a neckbreaker gets two. Kemp throws down some right hands followed by body shots in the corner.
Kemp lands some European uppercuts before Benjamin starts firing back. Kemp sends Benjamin into the corner and catches him on the way out with a neckbreaker for two. Kemp hooks a chinlock before Benjamin starts to rally again and they trade right hands.
Benjamin gains the advantage and lands a heel kick that gets Kemp off his feet. Stinger Splash in the corner. Kemp ducks a clothesline and gets a spear. He gets a twisting suplex into a neckbreaker for two.
Benjamin comes back with a German suplex and gets the step up running knee in the corner before Pay Dirt connects for the win.
Winner: Shelton Benjamin
Back to the Royal Rumble where Cody Rhodes returned at #30 and won after eliminating Intercontienetal Champion Gunther.
We get a video package of the 2023 Woman’s Royal Rumble Match.
We cut to some Raw highlights featuring Rhea Ripley officially naming Charlotte Flair as her pick to face at WrestleMania.
Next up are highlights from the Royal Rumble as we see Bianca Belair defeat Alexa Bliss to retain the Raw Women’s Title.
Belair will face the winner of the Elimination Chamber at WrestleMania. So far we know it will be Raquel Rodriguez, Asuka, Liv Morgan & Nikki Cross. We have 2 slots to fill and one will be filled Monday in a Fatal 4 Way between Piper Niven, Candice LeRae, Michin & Carmella & the other Fatal 4 Way will be tonight on Smackdown as Natalya, Shayna Baszler, Zelina Vega & Shotzi Blackheart.
Back to some Raw highlights as we see Seth Rollins defeat Chad Gable to get into the United States Title Elimination Chamber Match.
Johnny Gargano & Bronson Reed also qualified by defeating Baron Corbin (Gargano) & Dolph Ziggler (Reed). The final 2 qualifiers will see Montez Ford vs. Elias & Angelo Dawkins vs. Damian Priest.

Akira Tozawa vs. Tony D’Angelo
Tony D’Angelo clowns Akira Tozawa to start as he throws him around the ring and tells him he is nothing. Tozawa slaps him in the face and fires off some strikes, but gets caught with a right hand. Tozawa blocks in the corner and gets a headscissors. He looks to fly, but D’Angelo catches him and gets a gutbuster as he targets the taped ribs.
Tozawa back with a kick and he comes off with a crossbody but gets caught and D’Angelo nails him with a powerbomb as we head to a break. After the break D’Angelo controlling the head and throwing uppercuts to the ribs. Suplex from D’Angelo gets two. D’Angelo hooks an abdominal stretch as he yells at the crowd. If I suck then he sucks. Tozawa escapes and gets a roll up for two.
Another headscissors followed by a running knee. Tozawa heads up and comes off with the flying back elbow for two. Tozawa tries to lift D’Angelo but not with the damaged ribs. He does counter into a crazy submission hold, but D’Angelo escapes and hits a clothesline.
Perfect Plex gets two. Tozawa gets set up top and D’Angelo pounds away. Tozawa fights back and blocks a superplex. Tozawa comes off with the Senton for the win.
Winner: Akira Tozawa
Back to Raw as Cody Rhodes cuts a promo and segues into his upcoming WrestleMania match with Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns before Judgment Day interrupt and Rhodes is cool with facing any member.

Back to Raw a few weeks back when Bayley vs. Becky Lynch inside the Steel Cage doesn’t happen as Damage CTRL attacks Lynch.
We get the final moments of Cody Rhodes vs. Finn Balor with Rhodes getting the win.
