Viewership figures have been reported for WWE NXT Heatwave, which faced significant competition from AEW All In.
The special averaged 281,000 viewers on The CW and drew a 0.05 rating in the key 18-to-49 demographic.
NXT Heatwave aired head-to-head with AEW All In and was also made available through the ESPN Unlimited app for the first time, meaning The CW figure does not represent the event’s total audience across platforms.
Both television metrics were down from June’s NXT Great American Bash, which averaged 394,000 viewers on The CW and recorded a 0.07 rating in the 18-to-49 demographic.
Unlike Heatwave, however, Great American Bash was not simulcast through ESPN Unlimited.
The additional streaming availability and direct competition from AEW All In provide important context when comparing Heatwave’s traditional television numbers with previous NXT specials.
