WWE NXT Results – September 5, 2018

Welcome to WWE NXT. 

Match Number One:  Kassius Ohno versus Kona Reeves

They lock up and Ohno with a cravate but Reeves backs Ohno into the corner.  Reeves pushes Ohno on the break and then he realizes he might have done something wrong.  Reeves slaps Ohno in the back of the head and then he says that he is the finest.  Ohno slaps Reeves and then Ohno with a knee drop to the head.  Reeves with an uppercut and he goes to the turnbuckles and hits a forearm.  Reeves gets a near fall.  Reeves gets Ohno up but Ohno gets to his feet and he hits a rolling elbow for the three count.

Winner:  Kassius Ohno

After the match, Ohno says that when he came back to NXT, there was so much buzz, until . . . there wasn’t.  Kassius Ohno became an afterthought.  It used to tear him up trying to figure it out.  Kassius says he gets it.  There is always going to be someone new and fresh.  To whoever the next guy with buzz is, Kassius Ohno isn’t going anywhere, he is going to be right here.  Kassius says he will be the first to welcome you and knock you to the back of the line.

We go to commercial.

Match Number Two:  Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake (with Jaxson Ryker) versus Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford

Ford and Blake start things off and Blake with a take down into an arm bar.  Ford with an arm drag and Dawkins tags in and so does Cutler.  Dawkins and Ford with a double drop kick and Blake and Cutler go to the floor.  Ford takes a drink and he hits a plancha.  Cutler is sent into the ring and Dawkins gets a near fall.  Dawkins with an arm bar.  Dawkins works in the arm and applies a hammer lock.  Ford tags in and he gives Cutler an arm drag into an arm bar.  Cutler with a forearm to the chest but Ford holds on to the arm bar.

Ford with a waist lock and Blake tags in.  Blake with a clothesline that sends Ford onto Cutler’s knees.  Blake with an elbow drop and a springboard knee drop for a near fall.  Cutler tags in and they hit a double neck breaker on Ford for a near fall.  Cutler with a boot to Ford and then he applies a rear chin lock.  Cutler with a neck breaker and he gets a near fall.  Blake tags in and he hits a leg drop onto Ford on the apron and he gets a near fall.

Cutler tags back in and he punches Ford.  Cutler chokes Ford in the ropes.  Cutler gets a near fall and then he applies a rear chin lock.  Ford avoids a neck breaker and gets a near fall with a back slide.  Ford is prevented from making the tag and Blake tags in.  Blake misses an elbow drop and Dawkins tags in and he hits a few clotheslines on Blake and a drop kick on Cutler.  Dawkins sends Blake into the corner and then he punches Cutler and hot shots Blake.  Dawkins sets for the corkscrew splash and hits it.  Cutler pulls Dawkins to the floor and sends Dawkins into the ring steps.  Ford kicks Cutler and then Ford hits a float over DDT.

Two masked men come to the ring and distract Ford and Dawkins.  It turns out to be The MIghty.  Cutler tags in and hits a boot to the chest from the turnbuckles while Blake hits a reverse DDT to get the three count.

Winners:  Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake

 

We continue with a look at the investigation and Otis Dozovic and Tucker Knight are being interviewed.

Otis says it is a little hot in the room and he asks for some water.  Otis says it was him.  He broke the toilet in the Performance Center.  Tucker tries to separate himself from what Otis is saying.  Tucker says that is not what they are there for.

William says the video footage they provided was helpful but they ask if there is anything else that was not on the video.  Tucker says that CIampa was in the bushes near Black’s body but that was it.

We take a look back at last week’s main event when Ricochet accidentally hit Pete Dunne on a move to the floor.

We see footage from after the match when Ricochet and Pete were arguing in the back.  Pete says he has been champion for 450 days while Ricochet has only been here for five minutes.  Ricochet says he can do things that Pete cannot do.  Pete wants a title versus title match and Ricochet accepts.

The match will happen in two weeks and both titles will be on the line.

We go to commercial with a video package for the War Raiders and their quest for the tag titles held by the Undisputed Era.

Kairi Sane makes her way to the ring but before she goes down the ramp, she gets her title belt out of her treasure chest.

Match Number Three:  Kairi Sane versus Trish Adora in a Non Title Match

Sane with a waist lock and Adora with an elbow but Sane holds on.  Adora with a leg trip but she misses a kick.  Sane with a take down and a kick to teh back.  Sane with a flying neck breaker and she gets a near fall with a rollup.  Sane goes for the Stretch Muffler but Adora gets to the ropes.  Sane with a double stomp to the back and she gets a near fall.  Sane with a forearm but Adora with a forearm.  Adora picks up Sane but Sane gets back to her feet and hits a spinning back fist.  Sane marches to the corner for the Sliding D.  Sane goes up top and hits the elbow drop for the three count.

Winner:  Kairi Sane

After the match, Shayna Baszler’s music plays to interrupt Sane’s in ring celebration.

Baszler knocks over the treasure chest and she tells Kairi to enjoy her little pirate treasure fantasy while she can because it will end when she invokes her rematch clause.  Tonight, let’s see if this pirate can swim.

Baszler with a series of strikes and a clothesline.  Sane gets up and blocks a punch and connects with punches of her own.  Sane with strikes and Baszler has to back up.  Sane with a spinning back fist followed by a spear that sends Baszler to the floor.

NXT Men’s Champion Tommaso Ciampa is in the back and he says that he has not been seen since Takeover because he does not have a Number One Contender.  Without Aleister Black and Johnny Gargano, he is the last man standing.  He says he prefers to film this on his time because he is sick and tired of hearing your opinions.  He does not want to be the voice of the voiceless.  He does not want to lead mindless sheep.  Tommaso says he is at the top of the food chain.  The entire world is listening to every word he has to say, but he realizes that there are a few of you who truly hear his message.  Ciampa tells people to follow the lead of Tommaso Ciampa.  Follow the lead of your NXT Champion.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Lars Sullivan says it was an oversight on his end when he said he would return.  William mentions that Lars had a motive and means so he is a culprit in the case.

Lars is asked why was he there that night.  Lars says he was going to locate Aleister Black because he owed him a visit.  Lars says he heard Black scream out in the distance and by the time he got close enough, Black was down.  He saw the Undisputed Era driving away while Regal was running to the scene.  He says if he did it, he would still be standing over Black.  Just ask EC3.

William Regal says that Lars Sullivan will face Raul Mendoza next week.

Match Number Four:  Velveteen Dream versus Johnny Gargano

They lock up and Drewm with a hammer lock into a snap mare.  Dream pushes Gargano and Gargano punches Dream.  Dream goes for the legs but Gargano with a front face lock and Gator Roll.  Dream tries to escape but Gargano holds on to the front face lock.  Dream gets to the ropes and Gargano is forced to release the hold.  Dream with a side head lock.  Gargano with a punch and Dream floats over but Gargano does not charge into teh corner.  Gargano with a kick to Dream and then he kicks Dream in the corner.

Dream with a double leg take down and then he goes for the leg but Gargano kicks Dream away and then he kicks Dream to the floor.  Gargano with a drop kick to knock Dream off the apron.  Gargano with chops to Dream before they return to the ring.  Dream with a hot shot to Gargano.  Dream with a knee to the back and kicks and punches in the corner.  Dream chokes Gargano in the corner and the referee warns Dream.  Dream with a forearm to the lower back.  Dream sends Gargano into the turnbucles and connects with forearms to the back.

Gargano with chops in the corner.  Dream with an Irish whip and Gargano does the Michaels flip.  Dream with a neck breaker and he gets a near fall.  Dream with boots to the head.  Dream stands on Gargano’s back on the ropes.  Dream goes to the turnbuckles and poses over Gargano and then drops onto Gargano’s back.  Dream sends Gargano to the mat.  Dream with a boot to the head and he gets a near fall.

Dream with a rear chin lock and he kicks Gargano in the back of the leg.  Dream with a sleeper and he gets Gargano to the mat.  Gargano backs Dream into the corner to get out of the hold.  Dream with punches and kicks to Gargano and Gargano is down.  Dream goes to the turnbuckles and Gargano stops him but Dream with back elbows and he goes for the swinging DDT but Gargano counters into an elevated elbow drop.  Gargano with a rana followed by an enzuigiri and Dream goes to the floor.  Gargano goes to the apron and then Dream returns to the ring.  Gargano with a slingshot spear for a near fall.

Gargano with a chop.  Dream goes to the apron and he connects with a jab.  Gargano with a super kick from the apron and then he hits a blockbuster off the apron.  Gargano sends Dream back into the ring and Gargano returns too.  Gargano with a running forearm into the corner.  Gargano floats over and misses the rolling kick.  Dream with a Fameasser for a near fall.   Gargano with an elbow and he comes off the turnbuckles but Dream catches Gargano.  Gargano rolls into a fireman’s carry position but Gargano with a sunset flip for a near fall.  Dream with a boot to Gargano but Gargano comes back with a discus clothesline for a near fall.

Dream gets a near fall and both men are down.  Gargano goes to the apron and Dream stops Gargano from climbing the turnbuckles.  Dream and Gargano exchange punches.  Dream with a boot but Gargano with more punches.  Dream with a boot and then Dream gets Gargano up for the rolling Dath Valley Driver but Gargano escapes.  Dream sends Gargano knee first into the steps.

Dream with the twisting DDT for a near fall.  Dream with a knee drop to the injured leg and then he pulls down the knee pad on the injured leg.  Dream with knees to the injured leg and then he wraps the leg in the ropes.  Gargano with an enzuigiri but Dream with a super kick to stop Gargano.  Dream misses the elbow drop off the turnbuckles when Gargano moves off the apron.  Gargano with a suicide dive onto Dream.  Gargano applies the GargaNo Escape on the ramp and the referee tells Gargano he needs to do it in the ring to win.

The referee makes his count and Gargano gets back into the ring.  Dream rolls in at nine to break the count.  Gargano sets for an elevated DDT but Dream holds on to the ropes.  Gargano with a super kick with Dream tied up in the ropes.  Gargano hangs Dream over the apron and sets for the elevated DDT.  The referee warns Gargano and Gargano releases the hold.  Gargano sees a fan with a Gargano sign in the front row.  Gargano returns to the ring and he thinks about pulling down the knee pad but he is not Tommaso Ciampa.  Dream calls Gargano “Johnny Failure” and Gargano pulls down the knee pad and Dream hits the rolling Death Valley Driver for the three count.

Winner:  Velveteen Dream

We go to credits with Johnny walking out of the arena through the crowd.
