WWE NXT Review – February 20, 2024

North American Title Match
Oba Femi (c) vs. Lexis King

Match starts off with a lock up then Lexis King hits a series of chops then looks to land a springboard crossbody.

Oba Femi blocks it and lands a back body drop then follows it up with a pair of right hands to King’s midsection.

King connects with a pair of kicks on Femi’s chest but Femi sends him crashing out of the ring and gets him back inside.

King dropkicks Femi off the apron, then sends Femi crashing into the ring post and sends his arm bouncing off it.

They get back inside the ring as we see Von Wagner & Mr Stone watch the action from backstage. Stone announces he’s going out to ringside and King ascends to the top rope.

Stone appears and King hits a double stomp to Femi’s arm. King slides out of the ring and shoves Stone when King gets back in the ring Femi looks to chokeslam him.

King prevents him from doing so and fires off a few forearms but Femi runs him over with a clothesline and sends him crashing into the mat.

Femi tosses King across the ring and connects with a pop up powerbomb for the win.

Winner & Still North American Champion: Oba Femi (STILL CHAMPION!!!!)

We then head backstage and see Thea Hail venting about her relationship issues with Riley Osborne to Jacy Jayne & Jazmyn Nyx. Arianna Grace overhears and gives Hail some advice of her own and questions the advice Jayne gave her. Jayne steps up for herself leading to a verbal confrontation to Grace.

After the break we see Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria tell Tatum Paxley to stay in the back during her Women’s Title defense against Shotzi later tonight & if she does she has a surprise for Paxley.

New NXT Tag Team Champions The Wolf Dogs reflect on their journey to becoming NXT Tag Team Champions and Baron Corbin reminds Bron Breakker that he beat him at No Mercy. They then reflect on hitting the End Of Days and spear to become the NXT Tag Team Champions and Breakker names their finisher the Spear Of Days.

Chase U’s music hits and Andre Chase & Duke Hudson make their way down to the ring. Hudson says it’s impressive they beat 7 other teams to win the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Breakker tells Chase U to take their school spirit and shove it up their asses and Chase says that The Family promises them a title shot. He says they won’t take no for an answer.

Axiom & Nathan Frazer then make their way down to the ring and Frazer says that just because they were promised a title shot that doesn’t mean they’re going to get it. Axiom says that they’ve been the closest to beating The Wolf Dogs & Hudson questions who invited Axiom & Frazer to the party. He tells them to get to the back of the line and Corbin says him & Breakker have stuff to do and places to be.

Ava appears on the ramp and announces that Chase U will be colliding with Axiom & Frazer in a #1 Contenders Match for the NXT Tag Team Titles.

Backstage Roxanne Perez was interviewed by Kelly Kincaid where she said that she was tired of getting her Women’s Title shots taken away and should get a shot at the Women’s Title she never lost.

After the break we see another mysterious message: Men deny their truth, I will be a mirror to it.

Wren Sinclair vs. Roxanne Perez

Match starts off with a lock up before Wren Sinclair shoves Roxanne Perez & Perez fires off right hands on Sinclair on the outside.

They get back inside the ring and Sinclair lands a forearm on Perez.

She sends Perez crashing into the mat and connects with a forearm to her on the outside.

Perez sends Sinclair crashing into the floor then sends her arm crashing into the floor and her face colliding with the ring apron twice.

Perez & Sinclair get back inside the ring and Perez wears Sinclair down with a submission hold.

She continues to wear down her arm before Sinclair delivers a boot to Perez’s face and follows it up with a pair of clotheslines.

Sinclair lands a dropkick and Perez responds with a boot to her midsection then connects with Pop Rox then transitions into a crossface for the win.

Winner By Submission: Roxanne Perez

Meta 4 were backstage preparing for Legend’s match before they were interrupted by No Quarter Catch Crew & they challenged Noam Dar to a Heritage Cup Title match which Dar accepts.

Brooks Jansen vs. Josh Briggs

Match starts off with a lock up then Josh Briggs delivers a shoulder tackle but Brooks Jensen responds with one of his own.

Briggs lands another shoulder tackle then sends him crashing into the turnbuckle.

Jensen fires off chops and clotheslines and Briggs in the corner then hits a modified bulldog and a dropkick.

He hits an open palm strike to Briggs through the middle rope before he sends him crashing into the barricade on the outside and tosses him over it.

He then stomps on his chest as we go to a break.

After the break Jensen connects with an enzuigiri on Briggs before Jensen hits a backslide but Briggs kicks out.

Briggs fires off right hands on Jensen then hits a stomp to him in the corner and follows it up with a standing splash.

Jensen slaps Briggs and fires off right and left hands then follows it up with a dropkick.

Briggs responds with a boot and a chokeslam then goes for a pin.

Briggs kicks out and they exchange right hands with one another. Briggs lands a boot and Jensen hits a spinning heel kick.

He follows it up with a suplex and goes for a pin but Briggs kicks out then Briggs hits a pair of clotheslines for the win.

Winner: Josh Briggs

Dijak had Joe Gacy in an interrogation room while Gacy was in a straight jacket. Luca Crusifino confronts Dijak and that it may be illegal. Dijak said that what he was doing was illegal but Crusifino responded by saying that the world does not work like that. Gacy got on the door and shouted This isn’t over.

Carmelo Hayes sits in the barber shop & says this is where everything began. He says despite being all alone, he’s not lonely. He says he didn’t get too big for his own good, and says Williams was his boy. He says Williams could’ve been #5, #3 or even #2 but he wanted to be #1. He says no one is 2nd to him and to stay at the top you need to have a killer instinct. He says he saw all the times Williams side eyed his NXT Title and says he’s Williams’ biggest competition. He says he knew he had to attack Williams before he did it to him and tells Williams that his 15 minutes is up. He tells NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov to get in line if he wants to talk to him and he won’t talk to him unless it’s about the NXT Title.

Jacy Jayne vs. Arianna Grace

Match starts off with a lock up then Jacy Jayne trips Arianna Grace but Grace responds with a shoulder tackle and demands that Jayne kiss her hand but Jayne refuses to do so.

Jayne connects with a senton on Grace but Grace sends her crashing into the turnbuckle.

She then hits a bodyslam and an elbow drop before the action spills to the outside and Jayne connects with a back elbow.

Jayne distracts the referee and Jazmyn Nyx takes advantage by landing a forearm on her spine on the outside.

Nyx then dumps Grace back in the ring and Jayne follows it up with a spinning forearm for the win.

Winner: Jacy Jayne

Tony D’Angelo spoke with Adrianna Rizzo & Stacks at the restaurant after their losses. D’Angelo said that they had been playing small ball and promised to lead the family in a new direction & prove he was The Don of NXT.

Ridge Holland is back for another sit down interview with Sarah and asked about his assault of Gallus after their Gauntlet match last week. Holland says when they spoke last, people saw a different side of him but he still can’t get that stench of misfortune off him. He says Gallus smashed his leg last month and that’s fine but when he gets that chair in his hands it becomes a weapon. He can’t even defend himself with other people attacking him. He says this isn’t the forum and next week he’ll address the WWE Universe and apologize for his actions even if no one cares. He says the main with that chair is not the man he is in life.

NXT Tag Team Titles #1 Contenders Match
Chase U (Andre Chase & Duke Hudson) vs. Nathan Frazer & Axiom

Andre Chase & Axiom lock up then they hit each other with dropkicks before Axiom executes an arm drag and a dropkick.

Nathan Frazer tags in and hits a standing moonsault but Hudson tags in and Chase U hits double right hands to his midsection and spine.

Frazer connects with a single leg dropkick on Hudson but Hudson runs him over with a shoulder tackle.

Chase & Axiom tag in and Axiom hits a hurricanrana/arm drag special to Chase U.

Axiom & Frazer then hits a pair of tope suicidas to Chase U on the outside as we go to a break.

After the break Frazer tags in and Axiom hits a half & half suplex to Chase then Frazer trips Chase then looks to land a flying lariat.

Chase responds with a sit out chokeslam and tags in Hudson then Axiom tags in and Hudson looks to level him with a powerbomb.

Axiom escapes and hits a superkick but Hudson levels him then hits Chase U right hands to Frazer then hits a senton/gutbuster combination to Frazer & Axiom.

Axiom connects with an enzuigiri on Hudson then joins him on the top rope and hits a Spanish Fly to Hudson.

Frazer & Axiom then fire off kicks on Hudson but Hudson hits them both with a double clothesline before Chase tags in and hits a crossbody to the Frazer.

Frazer rolls up Chase but Chase reverses the pin but Frazer kicks out but Chase rolls him up for the 2nd time for the win.

Winners & #1 Contenders To The NXT Tag Team Titles: Chase U

After the match Good Brothers appear out of nowhere and attack Chase U, Axiom & Nathan Frazer & they hit Magic Killer to Hudson.

NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov had a vignette calling out Carmelo Hayes to something much bigger than just the NXT Title.

After the break we head over to the women’s locker room and see Thea Hail vent to Fallon Henley about her issues. Henley suggests they take a walk and tells Hail about her Valentine’s Day last year.

Lash Legend vs. Kelani Jordan

Match starts off with a lock up then Lash Legend hits a mat return then connects with a pump kick and a shoulder block.

She then connects with a backbreaker and a standing splash before locking Jordan in a back submission. She looks to hit a 2nd splash but Jordan gets her knees up.

Jordan delivers a kick to Legend then ascends to the top rope and hits a hurricanrana.

She dropkicks her into the corner then hits a back heel kick and climbs to the middle looking to fly.

Jakara Jackson hops up on the ramp and captures Jordan’s attention opening the door for Legend to hit a Powerbomb for the win.

Winner: Lash Legend

After the match Kiana James & Izzi Dame march down to the ring and look to attack Jordan but she escapes before they can.

Good Brothers were interviewed by Kelly Kincaid in the parking lot & they put the entire NXT Tag Team division on notice and that they were gunning for the NXT Tag Team Titles.

Women’s Title Match
Lyra Valkyria (c) vs. Shotzi

Match starts off with a lock up then they take turns locking one another in submissions before Shotzi connects with a shoulder tackle.

Lyra Valkyria connects with a pair of arm drags but Shotzi lands one of her own out of the corner.

Shotzi hits a hanging DDT to Valkyria from the middle rope to the outside then clutches her knee as we go to a break.

After the break the referee has called off the match due to Shotzi injuring her knee.

Winner By Referee Stoppage & Still Women’s Champion: Lyra Valkyria (STILL CHAMPION!!!!)

After the match Ava then appears at ringside and declares that Shotzi can is no longer medically cleared then announces that it will now be an open challenge for the Women’s Title and Lash Legend answers the call.

Women’s Title Match
Lyra Valkyria (c) vs. Lash Legend

Lyra Valkyria fires off kicks on Lash Legend’s thigh before Legend responds with a forearm but Valkyria responds with a few more kicks and a boot to Legend’s face as she charges at her in the corner.

Legend connects with a backbreaker and an elbow drop to her spine then lands a forearm on her chest and a clothesline.

Legend wears Valkyria down with a spine submission as we see 3 Superstars update Roxanne Perez on Legend answering the open challenge for an Women’s Title match.

Perez knocks over the TV off the table out of frustration as Valkyria catches her with a hurricanrana but Legend hits a chokeslam.

Valkyria hits a crossbody off the middle rope then looks to get Legend up on her shoulders.

Legend connects with a pump kick on Valkyria before Valkyria hits a Frog Splash off the top rope for the win.

Winner & Still Women’s Champion: Lyra Valkyria (STILL CHAMPION!!!!)
