On this week’s WWE RAW, Jinder Mahal led Indus Sher’s Veer and Sanga to another squash victory over two WWE NXT Superstars.
Javier Bernal has been working NXT events since his WWE 205 Live debut in January 2022, but this was his first main roster television show. Kevin Ventura-Cortes made his WWE in-ring debut, having previously played college football and been a prospect for the NFL Draft before signing with WWE following the 2022 SummerSlam tryouts. Both NXT wrestlers were recognized on television.
Bernal tweeted about the experience and reflected on the December 6, 2022 episode of NXT TV, where he was scheduled to face newcomer Bryson Montana, who was making his main show debut. Indus Sher destroyed Montana before Bernal entered the ring. Bernal then appeared and pretended to be injured in order to avoid Veer and Sanga’s wrath.
Bernal tweeted a GIF from the NXT episode, writing, “I suppose it was probably payback for this, but I’ve never been beaten by Indus Sher! #LongTermStoryTelling #BigBodyJavi”
In a subsequent tweet, he said, “First time appearance on #WWERaw and I have never been beaten [face with monocle emoji]”
AD Ventura-Cortes simply stated, “We almost had them [melting face emoji]”
Since joining RAW in the 2023 WWE Draft, Indus Sher has defeated two teams. Veer and Sanga defeated Drake Thompson (aka Jackson Drake) and Lavar Barbie (aka Lucky Ali) on May 15. Mahal has stated that he intends to lead the duo to the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles. It was previously reported that WWE’s creative plans called for Veer and Sanga to primarily work as a tag team, with Mahal acting as a mouthpiece while also wrestling at times.
