Former WWE Writer Shares His Thoughts On The AEW Double Or Nothing Card

Former WWE creative writer Freddie Prinze Jr. recently spoke on his podcast, โ€œWrestling with Freddie,โ€ about a variety of professional wrestling topics including the AEW Double or Nothing Anarchy in the Arena Match.

Prinze Jr. said, โ€œTheir Civil War storyline is their โ€˜Aโ€™ storyline. Look, Iโ€™m following it, Iโ€™m watching it โ€ฆ I donโ€™t โ€ฆ Itโ€™s not the best story that theyโ€™ve told.โ€ โ€œI know they explained it storyline-wise but it was still a hard pill to swallow. I donโ€™t hate it. It is what it is.โ€

On Adam Copeland feuding with Malakai Black for the TNT title:

โ€The one storyline that I think theyโ€™re telling [well], old man Adam Copeland and his Cope Open, and I feel like weโ€™re finally going to get a Malakai Black storyline that means something. And I think heโ€™s finally going to be champion, and I think itโ€™s freaking time [that heโ€™s champion].โ€

On the Mercedes Mone-Willow Nightingale storyline:

โ€I donโ€™t want to talk about the Mercedes Mone-Willow championship match because I donโ€™t want to say bad things. I donโ€™t feel like itโ€™s been done well. I feel the debut was for the Boston pop at this point, โ€™cause thatโ€™s where sheโ€™s from, and then itโ€™s like, โ€˜Letโ€™s wait,โ€™ what feels like three months now. Thereโ€™s just not enough there for me.โ€

On Mariah May:

โ€œSomeone who I do think theyโ€™re doing well with is Mariah โ€˜freakingโ€™ May. Iโ€™ll say this, if you judge a book by its cover, you go, โ€˜She canโ€™t talk, she canโ€™t wrestle.’โ€ โ€œAll of a sudden youโ€™re watching somebody whoโ€™s super good in there at their job. Sheโ€™s young. To be that good already is kind of a weird thing, and makes me go, โ€˜How did WWE miss that?โ€™ Itโ€™s like the Will Ospreay thing, how do you miss that?โ€
