WWE has made significant changes to its champions following WrestleMania XL. On the main roster and NXT, multiple titles have changed hands. NXT has also introduced a new women’s title similar to the North American title.
Tonight’s WWE NXT will have a Spring Breakin’ theme with several big matches, including the main event between NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov and Trick Williams, with the stipulation that if Williams loses, he will leave NXT. Williams is no longer a candidate for a main roster call-up.
NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez will defend against Lyra Valkyria and Tatum Paxley in a triple threat match, No Quarter Catch Crew’s Charlie Dempsey, Damon Kemp, and Myles Borne will face The Family’s Tony D’Angelo, Stacks, and Luca Crusifino, Sol Ruca will face Blair Davenport in a Beach Brawl, and Natalya and Lola Vice will sign contracts.
Dragunov, as previously reported earlier this month, is thought to be a lock for the draft.
The top NXT star recently achieved a significant milestone ahead of his next title defense: he has been champion for more than 200 days. He is currently at 206 days. Dragunov defeated Carmelo Hayes for the NXT Title at No Mercy.
