Real Reason Behind Chelsea Green’s Recent SmackDown Absence Revealed

The mystery surrounding Chelsea Green’s absence from the June 13th episode of WWE SmackDown has officially been cleared up.

According to a report from Fightful Select, Green was forced to miss the show due to a severe sinus infection that escalated to the point of causing temporary hearing loss. The infection required immediate medical attention, sending the WWE star to the emergency room.

While an on-screen storyline claimed that Green simply didn’t arrive for her scheduled Queen of the Ring tournament match — leading to her being replaced — the real situation behind the scenes was far more serious. Green reportedly did not travel to the show at all because of the illness.

Importantly, the sinus infection was said to be unrelated to the broken nose Green had sustained just weeks prior. Despite that previous injury, Green had shown her usual toughness, continuing to wrestle and perform through it. Backstage sources noted that Green was actually willing to work through the nose injury had the sinus issue not sidelined her.

Producers were said to be impressed by Green’s resilience, praising her quick recovery. She returned to action the following week on SmackDown, showing no signs of slowing down.
