WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker recently appeared on an episode of his Six Feet Under podcast, where he discussed a number of topics including never having an exit plan for his career.
Undertaker said, โDonโt end up like what I did. I thought I was going to โ for whatever reason, I was gonna do this forever. I mean, I did it for longer than a lot of people. But I really didnโt make an exit plan. Thatโs the thing where I just ran until the tires fell off, right? Like, where I couldnโt physically do it anymore, and then had to stop and think, like, โOkay, now you got to figure out part two.โ Which may sound shocking to a lot of people that I didnโt have that presence of mind. But I just figured, like, โEh. Iโm going to do this.โ And then you know, on the other hand, like, โYour body isnโt quite responding the way it should to what youโre asking it to do. Maybe you might want to think about doing a wrap here.โ But yeah, I mean, just keep all the fires, you know. Keep that business Ackerman in the forefront. And be ready for when you had enough for this.โ
On evolving:
โI said it at the Hall [Of Fame]. You never can be content no matter how long youโre there. But you have to continually evolve and make yourself better. Because if you donโt, you become yesterday, you become stale. And thereโs always somebody else coming up thatโs โ I mean, our audience is very, theyโre loyal as a whole, but theyโre fickle about who theyโre going to get behind. So if youโre not making yourself better, back it up.โ
