Additional details about Monday’s WWE RAW plans have surfaced. As PWMania.com previously reported, Naomi was scheduled to win the Women’s 6-Pack Challenge and challenge Bianca Belair for the Women’s Championship.
The original storyline had Naomi going to Hell In A Cell and lose against Bianca Belair, according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com. Some believe that an angle would have been shot on this week’s SmackDown for Sasha Banks to wrestle and lose to Ronda Rousey, most likely at Hell In A Cell.
Sasha and Naomi were believed to have been involved in two or three segments leading up to the 6-Pack Challenge, and Sasha would have celebrated with Naomi after it was over.
According to reports, an alternative idea for Banks and Naomi was pitched, with the pair having a short tag team match instead. Banks and Naomi reportedly told John Laurinaitis that they were leaving RAW, and the tag titles were left behind as it became clear that Naomi would win the 6-Pack Challenge.
Some believe the creative issue was not with Banks losing to Naomi, but with how the duo would have been portrayed over the next few weeks, especially after they had put so much time into building their team once Vince McMahon decided that they would be teaming up and winning the Women’s Tag Team titles at WrestleMania 38. Then to have Banks and Naomi wrestle each other and go off to put over other talents after diving into building their team, leaving them exactly where, which allegedly was the center of the matter.
