WWE Hall of Famer and former WCW President Eric Bischoff took to an episode of his Strictly Business podcast, where he talked about a variety of topics. Bischoff discussed why Warner Bros. Discovery encourages AEW to produce more PPV events. He believes the reason is that Warner Bros. Discovery owns a piece of the company and since they see the revenue, Warner wants a share of it otherwise it wouldn’t make a difference, and they wouldn’t care.

Bischoff said, โ€œMy first thought is, why? Why would Warner Discovery encourage AEW to produce more pay-per-views? I guess itโ€™s because Warner Discovery owns a piece, they see the revenue and they want a share of it. Iโ€™m guessing they do right now, you donโ€™t hear a lot of that chatter. But Iโ€™m guessing that Warner Discovery probably owns a piece of AEW, thatโ€™s part of their overall deal and as such, sees revenue potential there that is readily available and they want at it. If thatโ€™s the case, then Iโ€™m more convinced than ever that Warner Discovery owns a piece of AEW as we speak and are looking for revenue upside. Otherwise, why would they care?โ€

โ€œIโ€™m absolutely convinced because otherwise it wouldnโ€™t make any difference, why would they care? If theyโ€™re not getting a piece of the action, all they care about is television ratings. Since theyโ€™re looking for content other than television, thereโ€™s no other reason why theyโ€™d be interested unless theyโ€™re getting a taste.โ€
