WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter recently appeared on Under the Ring, where he talked about a number of topics including his rivalry with fellow WWE Hall of Famer Pat Patterson.
Slaughter said, โPat and I were having all these matches and pretty soon there was never any decisions, so Mr. McMahon Sr. got a little fed up with it and he said, โWell, you two are going into a special match.โ And I said, โWhat kind of match?โ And he said, โItโs called the alley fight.โ I said, โWhatโs an Alley Fight?โ He says, โI donโt know, Iโve never had one before, but Iโm going to have one with you two.’โ
He also talked about the Alley Fight he had with Patterson in Madison Square Garden.
โWe did have the greatest match of all time in Madison Square Garden. Truly an epic battle because there was no referee, as far as I know there was never a match before that without a referee and I donโt think thereโs been a match since that match without a referee, and so we ended up battling and battling and battling.โ
