Sgt. Slaughter Looks Back On Alley Fight With Pat Patterson In Madison Square Garden

WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter recently appeared on Under the Ring, where he talked about a number of topics including his rivalry with fellow WWE Hall of Famer Pat Patterson.

Slaughter said, โ€œPat and I were having all these matches and pretty soon there was never any decisions, so Mr. McMahon Sr. got a little fed up with it and he said, โ€˜Well, you two are going into a special match.โ€™ And I said, โ€˜What kind of match?โ€™ And he said, โ€˜Itโ€™s called the alley fight.โ€™ I said, โ€˜Whatโ€™s an Alley Fight?โ€™ He says, โ€˜I donโ€™t know, Iโ€™ve never had one before, but Iโ€™m going to have one with you two.’โ€

He also talked about the Alley Fight he had with Patterson in Madison Square Garden.

โ€œWe did have the greatest match of all time in Madison Square Garden. Truly an epic battle because there was no referee, as far as I know there was never a match before that without a referee and I donโ€™t think thereโ€™s been a match since that match without a referee, and so we ended up battling and battling and battling.โ€
