WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler spoke with Denise Salcedo about various topics, including how fellow WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg created his popular “puppies“ catchphrase during the Attitude Era.
Lawler said, “I wish I could say yes, but I can’t. Road Dogg, he came out and he said on an interview, to, I think, Sable, he said, ‘Hey, let us see your puppies,’ and it went over big. It just stuck in my mind and I started saying it week after week. So I became more [historically associated with the phrase]. I’ll give him his proper credit, though. He started it.“
