John Cena Cuts ‘Pipe Bomb’ Promo Targeting CM Punk On WWE SmackDown

The June 20th, 2025 edition of WWE SmackDown ended with a bang as John Cena laid out CM Punk and delivered a scathing parody of Punk’s infamous “pipe bomb” promo from 2011.

Following an intense closing segment that saw Cena put Punk through a table, the 16-time world champion grabbed a microphone and sat cross-legged at the top of the ramp — mimicking Punk’s iconic pose — and launched into a brutal, scripted shoot ahead of their Night of Champions clash.

“Punk, as you lay there in your most uncomfortable… Somebody’s afraid of what I’m going to say. I hope you can listen. I hope you can digest. Because before I leave here in six months with that WWE Championship, I got to get a whole lot of stuff off my chest.”

Cena declared he doesn’t hate Punk — in fact, he likes him more than anyone Punk has ever shared a locker room with. But he “hates the idea of him” and mocked the notion that Punk is the “best in the world.”

“You’re better than me at one thing — you’re the best bullsh*tter in the world.”

Cena didn’t hold back, breaking the fourth wall and name-dropping Claudio Castagnoli, Nic Nemeth, and Matt Cardona, before firing another shot:

“You’re no longer the voice of the voiceless — you’re a friggin’ millionaire. You’re not Punk, you’re a capitalist… Mister TKO. Because they knocked your balls technically off your body.”

Cena’s parody was both a savage promo and a clear escalation in their heated feud. With Night of Champions on the horizon, the stakes — and the animosity — couldn’t be higher.
