Block C Match Of The 2023 G1 Climax
NEVER Openweight 6 Man Tag Team Champion Tomohiro Ishii (2) vs. Mikey Nicholls (4)

We go to the outside where Mikey Nicholls was send into the railings but he rebounds with a clothesline before grounding Tomohiro Ishii back inside then we get some face hooking before we get a brief chop battle before a fight over a suplex led to Nicholls getting dropped.

Chops from Ishii traps Nicholls for some forearms as the referee needed to separate them but Nicholls fires back up and got charged back down then they exchanged forearms back & forth leading to a slap taking down Ishii before a DDT followed planting Ishii into the mat for an eventual near fall.

Nicholls hauls him up for a stalling suplex for a near fall before Ishii’s back suplex bought him some time. Nicholls manages to catch Ishii by scooping him up into a Death Valley Bomb following up with a superplex for another near fall.

Ishii avoids a diving uppercut as Nicholls ended up getting taken into the corner but Nicholls rebounds with a tornado DDT then a 2nd Death Valley Bomb before a sliding lariat again connects before Ishii cuts off Nicholls with a German suplex as an exchange of lariats nearly gets Ishii the win.

An exchange of enziguiri left both men laying then Ishii connects with a sliding lariat before Nicholls comes back with a Master Blaster and a moonsault for another near fall before Ishii escapes Mikey Bomb & nails a lariat before a Brainbuster puts Nicholls away.

Block C Match Of The 2023 G1 Climax
Tama Tonga (7) vs. Henare (4)

Tama Tonga must win.

Tama Tonga with some armdrags takes down Henare as did a back body drop before Henare connects with a springboard enziguiri out of the corner. Henare rips off part of the corner pad exposing just the top buckle as he proceeded to sandwich Tonga between the ropes for a running knee to the ribs.

Henare focuses on the ribs from there while a grounded cobra looked to stretch Tonga out before the ropes forced the break. Tonga is back with a dropkick as Henare came off the ropes before Tonga came back out of the corner with a clothesline following a reversed Irish whip.

Tonga gets a two count out of an exploder but things descend once more into an exchange of strikes ending with Tonga hitting SRC. He eventually heads up top for a Supreme Flow but Henare’s knee strike sends Tonga flying to the floor then back inside the ring Henare hits PKs for a near fall while a Berzerker Bomb gets a another 2 count.

Tonga connects with Veleno for a near fall following up with a Tongan Twist & Supreme Flow for a near fall before Henare with a pop up Samoan Drop then a knee strike that looks to set up for Ultima but instead a step up knee into the corner proved to set up Ultima.

Tonga manages to hold on though but hits a Gun Stun as Henare looks to spin him out that leads to a delayed near fall before a 2nd Gun Stun gets block then thrown aside as Henare charges back in with Rampage before Tonga slips out of Streets Of Rage & Superman Punch connects before DSD gets Tonga the win.

Champion vs. Champion Block C Match Of The 2023 G1 Climax
NEVER Openweight Champion David Finlay (8) vs. Strong Openweight Champion Eddie Kingston (8)

Winner advances.

Match starts off with a lock up then we get a break in the ropes before a cheap shot from David Finlay led Eddie Kingston to double leg him as things spilled to the outside then Finlay gets beaten around ringside eventually cutting off Kingston with a suplex on the floor.

Kingston gets send into the rails then into the ring post then back inside the ring Finlay gets chopped into the corner but an Irish whip leaves Kingston laying as did a pendulum backbreaker out of the corner then we get some chops as Finlay cuts off Kingston with a DDT only for Kingston to fire back with a clothesline into the corner and some chops.

Finlay floats out of a back suplex but gets caught with it at the 2nd attempt for a near fall before Finlay struck back with the uranage backbreaker before Finlay hits a 2nd one for a near fall then shoves down Kingston off the top rope.

Heading outside Finlay pops up Kingston into the ring post but Kingston beats the 20 count then found a way back in with a half & half suplex.

Backfist To The Future connects for a near fall before they jockeyed over a suplex but another Backfist To The Future from Kingston leads to a Northern Lights Bomb then goes go the cover but Finlay lands by the ropes though and was able to put his foot on the bottom rope.

Finlay is able to haul up Kingston for Into Oblivion but he too can’t make the cover before they trade strikes before Finlay ducks the Backfist To The Future and lands a spear after a bunch of rolling elbows then Into Oblivion connects for the win.

Winner: NEVER Openweight Champion David Finlay (10) (16:34) (Finlay takes 1st place he will Will Ospreay in the Quarter Finals)

Block C Match Of The 2023 G1 Climax
Shingo Takagi (7) vs. Evil (8)

Shingo Takagi wins & gets a playoff match with Tama Tonga.

Evil must win or go to a draw to advance.

Evil attacks Shingo Takagi then chokes him with a t shirt before the bell before Takagi returns with a shoulder tackle before a series of shots took Evil into the corner then things spill outside as Evil tried to wipe out the timekeeper but Takagi put on the brakes to save him only for Evil to make sure at the 3rd attempt.

Evil got some hair clippers & Evil makes a point of keeping Takagi on the outside where Dick Togo interjects himself but the ref knows the game and refused to count a pin after the interference. Takagi fired himself up and got his eyes raked before he caught Evil with the jab, elbow and DDT.

Takagi lands a back senton and a suplex for a two count while a Noshigami and a sliding lariat connects before the rest of the House Of Torture to head out. Takagi tries to ignore it but Made In Japan is escaped as Evil baits Takagi into the exposed corner.

Takagi was sent to the outside so he could take a ass kicking then throw Takagi back inside as a Darkness Scorpion was broken in the ropes before Darkness Falls is next but Takagi kicks out at two before Yujiro Takahashi pops up on the apron to distract but Dick Togo’s interference backfires as he’s used for a Magic Killer on Evil.

Evil escapes a Made In Japan only to fall to it at the 2nd attempt for a near fall before he countered an attempt at Everything Is Evil into a Last Of The Dragon before the ref has been pulled out though as Dick Togo slid in to count the pin & Takahashi rings the bell as House Of Torture swarm Takagi.

Here comes Yota Tsuji & Bushi but they’re quickly dealt with as Dick Togo continues to choke Takagi then Takahashi’s pimp cane and a chair shot from Sho leaves Takagi prone for a Shock Arrow as the referee got roll in only for Hiromu Takahashi to run out and pull the referee away again.

Takagi manages to pull away with a double clothesline as Tsuji hits an Orihara moonsault onto House Of Torture on the floor then back in the ring a Pumping Bomber lands as Bushi rolls the referee into the ring as a Last Of The Dragon.

Takagi finds a way through with a headbutt but again Evil shoves aside the ref to hit a low blow then Everything is Evil follows to put away Takagi.

Winner: Evil (10) (17:40) (Evil takes 2nd Place he will face Sanada in the Quarter Finals)
