In front of her home crowd of 80,000+ fans in Wembley Stadium, Saraya became the AEW Womenโs Champion at AEWโs All In. A feat that seemed improbable just a few years ago. Saraya took time to answer questions at the All In Post Media Scrum, including about her rehabilitation to get back into the ring and the potential of facing Mercedes Mone in the future.
Saraya was asked about her rehabilitation and returning to the ring. She credited AEW President Tony Khan for standing by her and supporting her. She stated that she started training more, getting in the gym, working out every single day, and watched AEW religiously prior to her return.
In regards to her time in AEW and winning the Womenโs Championship, she would go on to say, โItโs been a crazy journey. I never thought Iโd be here. I never thought I would be in Wembley Stadium in the biggest crowd in wrestling history! I mean, itโs just a dream, and Iโm so thankful!โ
Later on in the scrum, Saraya and Khan were asked about Mercedes Mone being in the crowd. As PWMania.com previously reported, Khan confirmed that Mone has not been cleared to wrestle yet, but he wanted her to take in the biggest paid pro wrestling crowd of all time and see what AEW is all about.
Saraya commented on Mone coming to AEW, saying, “Thatโs right, bring her on. I saw her and thought, โOkay, sheโs going to be watching, great.โ We already have history. I wanted to win the championship in front of her [Mercedes], honestly. I know if she were to ever come in, sheโs going to try and get this. I say, absolutely, bring her on. Mercedes, if youโre watching this, we canโt wait for you to finally join us.โ
When and if Mone will be joining AEW remains to be seen; however, it does appear AEW is already planting the seeds to renew a rivalry that stems back many years.
