WWE SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis wrestled in his first-ever match with the company at SummerSlam Night One this past weekend, where he faced “The Ring General” GUNTHER and unfortunately lost.
According to a report from WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, Aldis’ match against GUNTHER may not be his last appearance in a WWE ring. The report suggests that there is an internal belief that Aldis will compete again for the company, although this may not occur until next year.
Furthermore, the source mentioned that several people backstage believe Aldis is as talented, if not more so, than many of WWE’s regular television performers, and they want to see him have a significant in-ring career with the company.
Aldis has been the General Manager of SmackDown since his WWE debut in October 2023 and also serves as a backstage producer for the company.
