WWE has been gradually expanding its Big Four premium live events (PLEs) to multi-night formats. WrestleMania first adopted this model in 2020, becoming a two-night event for WrestleMania 36, and WWE SummerSlam also transitioned to a two-night PLE last year.
This has sparked speculation that the Royal Rumble could follow suit. WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reports that WWE is seriously considering making next year’s Royal Rumble a two-night show. However, sources suggest that, as it stands, next year’s event is expected to remain a one-night PLE. There is still “significant interest” within the company in eventually hosting the Royal Rumble over multiple nights, but this is unlikely to happen for next year’s event.
Additionally, PWMania.com reported that WWE announced on Tuesday that the 2027 Royal Rumble PLE will take place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The announcement did not specify a date, only stating that it will occur in February. This year’s Royal Rumble took place on January 31 from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
