Tegan Nox Reveals “Severe Lack Of Bookings” After WWE Departure

Former WWE Superstar Nixon Newell, best known to fans as Tegan Nox, is opening up about the harsh realities she’s faced since becoming a free agent—revealing a surprisingly slow response from the independent wrestling scene.

Speaking candidly on the “Wrestling in the Middle” podcast, Newell reflected on life after her WWE release on November 1, 2024, noting that the transition hasn’t been as smooth or as busy as many expected.

When asked how her free agency was going, Newell responded bluntly: “Not great. I’ve been honest—severe lack of bookings. Not sure where that’s from, but the bookings that I have done, like I’ve been home to Attack [Pro Wrestling], which has been phenomenal.”

Despite the downturn, Newell remains grateful for the matches she has had—particularly a long-awaited bout with fellow UK talent Danny Luna. “Got to wrestle Danny Luna, who’s been on my list, God, for years… I could tell she was going to be something special. So I’m glad that one was in a box, at least.”

Still, the unexpected lull in opportunities has been difficult to navigate. “But yeah, it’s been slow. Hopefully it picks up soon, because it’s a nightmare, but hopefully soon it gets better,” she admitted.

Newell’s honesty offers a rare and sobering perspective on the unpredictability of life after WWE. While some former Superstars find themselves quickly booked across the globe, her experience serves as a reminder that name recognition doesn’t always translate into immediate demand on the independent circuit.

Fans of “The Girl with the Shiniest Wizard” remain hopeful that her undeniable talent and charisma will lead to a resurgence—and that the second chapter of her wrestling journey is just getting started.
