Top AEW Stars and the company’s EVP The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) recently appeared on an episode of the Swerve City podcast to talk about a number of topics including how they had to end this year’s Blood & Guts Match and as a result certain things needed to be cut.
Below is the conversation between Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson on the subject matter.
Nick: Thereโs some moments though (when Iโm still wrapped up in wrestling), even like, I wanna say it was Blood & Guts. We had to take the match home quick.
Matt: We had to cut some stuff.
Nick: And I look at Matt and Hangman (Adam Page)โฆ
Matt: Heโs livid.
Nick: And Iโm like, โDang it! That wasnโt the best match! I wanted this to be the best match!โ And Mattโs like, โAre we all healthy?โ Iโm like, โYeah.โ โCan we walk?โ โYeah.โ I was like, โOh, youโre right.โ
Matt: I go, โThen who cares?โ I go, โIโm going to Hawaii,โ because I knew I was planning a trip to Hawaii (he laughed).
Nick: But even I get lost sometimes in the moment. Man, I want it to go this way but whatever, Iโm healthy.
Matt: I even said, โDid you try your best?โ I remember I said that to you. Youโre like, โYeah.โ I said, โI did too.โ
Nick: That was in the ring. Itโs not backstage. Weโre literally โ the bell rang, weโre raising our hands and Iโm like, โDang it.โ
Matt: And then heโs funny because later that night, he and I, we were eating Wendyโs upstairs, just the two of us watching the match back and we were popping for everything and at the end of the hour, weโre like, โThat was freaking great.โ
Nick: I was like, โWhat was I mad about?โ
