AEW star “Hangman” Adam Page recently spoke with SHAK Wrestling ahead of his Texas Death Match against Jon Moxley at the upcoming AEW All In: Texas pay-per-view event, where he will headline in pursuit of the AEW World Championship.
Page opened up about AEW’s current momentum, comparing it to the company’s early days:
“It very much does feel like, for me personally, in my experience week-to-week, a lot of the same magic of those first weeks and months of AEW TV. The sense of wanting to work together for a common goal, to make something good, exciting, new, fun and fresh. The trajectory has felt upwards.”
He also reflected on the personal journey that has brought him back to the main event scene:
“I did not expect to be in this position, as hard as I tried for 3 years, and I hadn’t gotten here. This is our biggest show in the U.S ever and I’ll be headlining it, and I intend to win the (AEW) World Championship at it. So, that’s the kinda thing I’ve tried to work towards for 3 years since I lost the Championship, and to be honest there were a lot of times that I kinda thought that was it for me as far these big opportunities, these big moments.”
“A lot of that boils down to me, who I was, who I was deciding to be, and that kinda attitude I had did not lead me to these opportunities.”
AEW All In: Texas is set to take place on Saturday, July 12 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. The event is already on pace to break AEW’s U.S. ticket sales records, with Page and Moxley’s brutal Texas Death Match shaping up to be one of the night’s marquee showdowns.
