New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) has announced that Gabe Kidd will no longer participate in the G1 Climax tournament due to an injury he sustained during his first match.
He suffered a right knee injury while facing Konosuke Takeshita on the tournament’s opening night, which also caused him to miss his subsequent match against Shingo Takagi.
As a result, NJPW has confirmed that Kidd’s remaining matches in the tournament will be forfeited. At this time, there has been no announcement regarding the status of the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship, which Kidd currently holds.
