TNA Wrestling star Zoey Serrano discussed her tryouts with WWE in an interview with Ring the Belle.
Serrano said, “Yeah, so I was pretty much keeping my options open. And at the time, I was doing some stuff for TNA. I wasn’t officially signed with them at the point. And [Cheerleader] Melissa was also like… we were kind of like looking at AEW to see if that was an option as well. It happened so fast, like just out of nowhere. At first, it felt like nothing was happening. And then all of a sudden, I was getting TNA bookings. And then I got SHIMMER, and I got scouted, and then I got a WWE tryout. And then at the end of that tryout, Canyon [Ceman] came up to me and he was like, ‘We’re going to sign you at the end of this. Everyone loves you, we’re going to do it.”
On getting an offer from TNA before joining WWE:
“So at that point I was like, ‘Great,’ right? This is all I’ve ever wanted. Like, my entire life, this is it. They sent over the contract, and then TNA calls me and says, ‘Hey, we would like to sign you.’ Like, ‘Well, thank you. But I have to go down this route and see how this goes.’ WWE has always been the dream for me.”
