Backstage Update On Darby Allin’s Return From Injury

Though people were talking about Darby Allin’s glass-breaking ladder dive during Sting’s retirement match at AEW Revolution against The Young Bucks, where the AEW Tag Team Titles were at stake, it was another match that forced him to the sidelines.

To the surprise of many, Allin only needed a few stitches to close the back wounds he sustained during the fight. Weeks later, Allin was injured while wrestling Jay White on an AEW Dynamite: Big Business episode.

Earlier this week, Allin revealed that he broke his foot in three places around two minutes into the White match. He sustained the injury while performing a flip plancha to the floor, but he continued to work for more minutes.

Because of this, he had to postpone his attempt to climb Mount Everest until 2025. Dave Meltzer reported in the most recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Allin will be out of action for a few months.

Meltzer stated, “Depending on the severity and need or surgery, a broken foot can be two months without surgery and luck. CM Punk had surgery and it was three months.”
