AEW hosted a special edition of Dynamite on Wednesday, titled the Rebel Heart show, to support Tanea Brooks, also known as Rebel, in her battle with ALS.
Pro wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley shared his thoughts about the event on his Instagram account. He posted a photo with Rebel from the event and called it “one of the greatest things” he has ever seen in professional wrestling.
Foley wrote, “A SPECIAL NIGHT FOR WRESTLING
In my 40 years in wrestling, I probably have a dozen moments that stand out in my mind as being so extraordinary that I will never forget them. Last night I had the honor of witnessing one of those moments. Watching @rebeltanea make her way to the ring, and roll away with @brittbaker in her lap was one of the greatest things I’ve seen in professional wrestling. Being in the audience when it happened, rushing backstage to see dozens of her colleagues surrounding her – many of them in tears – was beautiful to witness. Rebel has managed to uplift others even as she battles a devastating illness that has no cure. I’m proud and privileged to call her a friend.”
Foley is currently signed to AEW, where he works as an on-air talent and broadcaster.
