Former AEW star and WWE Divas Champion Saraya is now officially one of the most buzzed-about free agents in professional wrestling. In a revealing conversation with Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Saraya confirmed her AEW contract has ended, and she is open to returning to WWE—as her iconic alter ego, Paige.
Saraya described her AEW departure as mutual and respectful, noting that both she and Tony Khan agreed it was the right time to move on.
“It got to a point, I loved my time there, I really did, but there was nothing really much for me to do. When I was there, all I wanted to do was help elevate the division… I just decided that this is probably the perfect time for me to take a step back.”
While the idea of wrestling Mercedes Moné remained on the table, Saraya emphasized her desire to stay active and fulfilled, rather than just collect a paycheck.
“It was just easier, and Tony was great. He was agreeing too… So it was a very nice split, and great business, which is wonderful.”
Now a free agent with no non-compete, Saraya made it clear: if WWE comes calling, she wants to return as Paige—the edgy, loud, and groundbreaking character that helped reshape women’s wrestling in the 2010s.
“Paige, 100%. I miss Paige so much. I tell people all the time… Paige, I mean, she’s generational. I love her. She’s badass, tough as nails, just screaming all the time.”
She also hinted that a potential WWE Evolution return would be an easy “yes.”
“Of course. Of course I’d think about doing it if it came up.”
With her autobiography and podcast set to launch soon, Saraya is entering a new chapter—but fans are already speculating that the next chapter could be back in WWE, just in time for the Evolution premium live event.
