Pro wrestling veteran Tessa Blanchard recently appeared on TMZ’s Inside the Ring podcast. During the episode, she discussed various topics, including her reasons for joining Major League Wrestling (MLW).
Blanchard said, “Well, first of all, I think MLW’s women’s division, it’s one of the best-kept secrets in wrestling. They continuously have great matches. They have great workers. They have real depth within the division. I’ve been watching here from Mexico City. I pay attention to all of our alliances, whether it’s AEW, New Japan, STARDOM, MLW, [or] RevPro. I watch all of it. I love wrestling. You got to study your craft. I think what’s been missing from MLW is a franchise, a name that the division’s built around. This division was built, and now the franchise—well, I’m here. That’s exactly why I’m here. Every step of this division’s growth, it’s been leading to this.”
On her primary goal in MLW:
“My goal in MLW, it’s actually very simple. I want to make the MLW Women’s World Championship the number one women’s title in wrestling. Not just one of them, but the one. I think I’m more than capable of doing it. I’ve gone against some of the biggest names in professional wrestling, men or female. I’ve had a company built around me before, but there’s been a lot of noise about where I’m going to land. That nose exists because people already know what MLW is missing. I didn’t come to MLW to join a division. I’m going to go there to define one and help build.”
