Omos recently spoke with Blake Murphy of Sportsnet for an in-depth interview covering all things pro wrestling.
During the discussion, “The Nigerian Nightmare” spoke about the possibility of turning baby face in WWE, and how he’s worried that fans wouldn’t buy into it because of his massive size.
“From a psychology standpoint, it can be very challenging for someone whoโs seven-foot-three, muscles, and huge and intimidating, to get sympathy,” Omos said. “Heels donโt inspire people, only babyfaces do. And for me, thatโs going to be the challenge: How can this big, giant person inspire people? Because thereโs no relatability to someone whoโs seven-foot-three โฆ the moment where you see me with somebody smaller than me, the brain says, โI want the little guy to kick the big guyโs ass.โ”
He continued, “This is one of the best decisions Iโve ever made in my life. This is fun,โ he said. โTo wake up every day, go to work, play a character on TV that either people love or hate, people are so invested in the character you present on TV. What we do, itโs so amazing, man. And to know that some kid out there watching the show, theyโre going to grow up watching me on TV. I could have never pictured this life.”
