WWE star Trick Williams appeared on the Unsportsmanlike podcast to discuss various topics, including the announcement of 17-time World Champion John Cena as the host of WrestleMania 42.
Williams said, “I guess retirement is hard, sometimes. We’re glad that he’s going to be back. We know that everybody loves John Cena. I’m glad he’s back. We’re going to have a good time. It means a lot to us.”
Cena headlined Night Two of WrestleMania 41, where he defeated Cody Rhodes to become a record-breaking 17-time World Champion. He retired from in-ring competition at Saturday Night’s Main Event last December, losing to GUNTHER via submission. Before his farewell match, Cena signed a five-year deal to serve as a WWE Ambassador.
After announcing that he would be hosting this year’s WrestleMania, Fightful Select reported that WWE brought him in to boost ticket sales for the two-night event. Meanwhile, Williams will compete at WrestleMania 42, where he will challenge Sami Zayn for the United States Championship.
