According to Variety.com, Dan Cohen, who previously worked at Paramount (before Skydance) and Disney, has been appointed Head of Television Distribution at Black Bear. The company is set to launch Black Bear Digital Networks, which aims to help large independent content owners monetize their shows through syndication across a variety of channels. The report also noted that the NWA, Tubi, and Sinclair Networks are among BBDN’s first clients.
Black Bear is an independent studio that produces content in both film and television. Recent theatrical releases include Sydney Sweeney’s 2025 boxing biopic “Christie,” the Jason Statham-led film “Shelter,” and the upcoming project “Wicker,” featuring Olivia Colman and Alexander Skarsgård.
Currently, the NWA airs episodes of “NWA Powerrr” on Tubi and Comet TV. The partnership with Tubi began in June.
